Grace to my friends across the world!
Wow, there is a strong anointing functioning/flowing today and all across the land. Stop begging God for revival and step into what He is sending my friends. When a table is full of food its not time to visit the farms from whence it came. Its time to feast.
The most disgraceful thing I can think of is a Pentecostal/Charismatic church with little or no sense of the presence of almighty God. Be reminded: God sent His spirit and HAS NOT RECALLED HIM. Which means, the Holy Spirit of God is "Emmanuel" to us today. He is the right here and right now God. With God present among us, anything is possible.
Ps 86:17 says in part,"Show me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it, and be ashamed." The Holy Spirit is a sign to believers of God's constant and abiding care. Enjoy Him! Amen!
ANNIVERSARY
On Sunday, August 15, Gloria and I celebrate 40 years of marriage. How did it last so long? Gloria married a wonderful man and Dale married a wonderful girl. We have been blessed in ministry all around the world and at home, with four spectacular kids. Truth is, we have had all the same issues as any family. But we have kept our trust in God and His grace and we have kept loving one another. 40 years have passed like a flash and we are grateful for every day of life together.
GREECE
In our last letter we let you know our needs to pay all the bills for our next leadership event was $1000. One offering came in to help and our needs are still $850. for this project. These monies are sown into local leadership for food, housing, materials, and travel.
Greece is a dark place spiritually and needs all the help it can get. I will be a plenary speaker at the national leadership conference.(Just a reminder, LSI does not publish "hoped for" budgets. If we give you an amount, that is the amount we really need to pay for whatever the project is before us). We leave for Greece on 24 August.
IPODS
We have purchased a total of 120 if my math is correct. We have about 20 to be placed in some very restricted places. The cash needs to get all that done is $2000. At the moment we have 102 IPOD Bible schools working in Arabic speaking places. Why are funds needed? Air tickets, hotels, taxi fares and all the incidental expenses for our couriers. IPODS have to be delivered by hand. So, your help is needed to get these powerful tools where they can be used. Mark your gifts clearly.
THE NATION
Like many of you, I continue to be deeply concerned about the direction of our country. There are some things required to change it and bring it to its senses. One is spiritual renewal. Let's fast, pray, repent, restore, and reconcile so seasons of refreshing can come from the presence of the Lord. Secondly, we must engage the system politically and financially. Join political action groups, give to causes that promote Christian principles.
Organize either "for" or "against" committees as the case requires. But in Jesus name, do not be a by-stander now. It is a day that demands engagement and action.
Finally, Gloria and I cannot say thank you enough for all the faithful support you send our way in prayer, intercession, and finance. So much good has been done across the world because of you. May God really blessed you to the point of overflow is our prayer.

Hello everyone and a big summertime God bless you.
Will not bring a devotional in this email other than to say, there is fresh, deep, meaningful God activity going on all across the land. The atmosphere in the places Gloria and I have visited recently has been extraordinary. Heavenly worship, hunger for God like I have not seen in years, a willingness to linger long in His presence, a thirst for His word preached with anointing.....well, what to say? God be praised and when He is, His people are blessed. I hope you all find yourself enjoying the conditions mentioned here. Amen!
Two matters to bring to your attention...
1. Cyprus/Greece
Gloria and I have been asked to be plenary speakers at the National Greek Leadership conference in September. Why Greece? Well as you know, our ministry stands for reaching un-reached or under reached people groups. Greece is one of those. The population is 11 million. Born again Christians are just a few thousand. There are literally hundreds of cities with no gospel preaching church. Ministry always starts with leadership and that is why were are going. There is a fresh group of men and women who are thinking through what it means to be the church in this generation. Perhaps, just perhaps, we can make a small contribution going forward.
2. IPODS
We are close to finishing this program of 120 IPODS in Arabic and French. Only 6 more units are needed to secure and pay for the final units making 120 total. To date we have distributed 102 in 17 Islamic nations. The last groups of IPODS are going into some of the most gospel resistant and "closed" places in earth. We do have to pay for hand carried transportation in those places(see below)
They financial needs for the above are as follows:
Greece $1000. (needed immediately)
IPODS $4400. ($2000 for training and distributing/$2400 for units-needed by Sept 15)
Joyous notes:
Just returned home from Alaska and a great time of both ministry and rest. I can gratefully say, my fridge is full of halibut and salmon. All good.
Bless you dear ones for your support and care over the years. You make incredible things happen in remote and distant places. Gloria and I send our deepest thanks and love.

To Our Friends Everywhere: Grace, peace, and wishes for a great July 4th holiday! We plan to spend it at home with family and our prayer for you is that somewhere over the weekend, your family gets together and does family stuff in such a way it creates a tradition worthy of passing to the next generation. Psalms 145:4(NASV) One generation shall praise thy words to another and shall declare thy mighty acts. Same verse from the Message Bible: Generation after generation stands in awe of your work-each one telling stories of your mighty acts. I used the above verses as textual anchor when addressing our Bible School students recently. My challenge to them I pass to you. What in your life and ministry can be handed off to the next generation? What will help them become better and perhaps bigger in God and therefore, in influence in a fallen world? What is the health of the church we are passing along? Does it in some way look like the New Testament church? Something to ponder..... MINISTRY MATTERS First thing I must tell you all is that there is more anointing being manifest in services than I have seen in awhile. Said another way, the presence of God is tangible and evident in many ways and expressions. When we say we can feel the presence of another person, we indicate they are near, The same with God. When He is close enough to feel, he is close enough to heal and do His mighty works. My heart has been gladdened more than once recently in talking with ministers young and old who have a fresh passion to have God's best and at any cost. Prayer meetings are breaking out spontaneously in many churches. For balance sake I must tell you that what I am describing is certainly not in every church...for sure. It is in churches that are hungry for more of God and are willing to do whatever He asks to see His power and glory manifest in today's world. There is a common feeling among the seeking Jesus crowd, and that is God wants to demonstrate Himself to this generation. Everything that would stand as an obstacle to that must be moved aside. In fact, we were created and sent into ministry for more than an eighty minute session carefully crafted to be non offensive, Biblical light (no controversy), music endlessly repeated, and soaked with enough smiles to make a dentist happy. I ask you, "where is the Lord God of Elijah?" Is He being seen in your church? Let's agonize until we can pass the power of God to the next generation. Amen. IPODS I got an accurate count a few days ago and we need just 10 more to fill our promises of 120 units. All told they will be working in 20 Arabic speaking countries. 102 units are out now and we have 8 more paid for and ready to go. So we need 10 additional. We have been getting wonderful reports from several nations where these units have been placed. Will you help us finish? Each unit is $400. Mail your gift to the address below. TRAVELS Gloria and I are off to join a teaching team in Thessaloniki, Greece in late August. The event we will be addressing is a national leadership conference. I am often asked why we do ministry in Europe. There is a very good reason. Europe is dark spiritually. Greece has a population of 11,000,000. Christians number only a few thousand. Most gospel preaching churches are very small. There are few leaders. Since we have been called to un-reached and under reached places, Greece fits the profile of our calling. There are signs of new life. Nationally speaking, Greece is bankrupt as a nation. It is living on money borrowed from the IMF and the countries of the Euro zone. There are severe fiscal constraints on everyone. So, we are praying that this fiscal calamity will encourage people to look to God for help...starting with the leaders. You can help with the Greek event. Another $5000. will put this event over the top. With Greece being in the financial trouble it is in, few funds are available there. We leave August 24. Just mark your gift Greece and it will go there in its entirety. Thanks for your partnership. It has been a wonderful late spring and early summer. Many old friends have been visited and great times rehearsed from the past. Wonderful and refreshing. This past week I was genuinely blessed to travel to three churches which have been planted in the last two and half years. All of them are plants from Christian Life Center in Tinley Park. IL(near Chicago)/ I am blessed to be one of the directors of that ministry and count it a joy indeed to hang with young pastors who are doing something for Jesus. Common to all three churches is a passion to reach lost people, a hunger to pray more and better, a genuineness to worship and a kingdom mind set to release every parishioner in ministry. Each young church is very different from the other but all have a keen sense of going forward. What a true joy to see young couples happy in ministry and determined to make a difference for Jesus. Being around these good folks made a change in me...for the better. Thanks Dan and Pat, Eric and Kris, Doug and Shawna. You blessed me. During May, I was blessed to be with two groups new to me. I spoke at something called RRI conferences in Nevada and Oklahoma. The name means Revival and Reformation Institute. The ideas being promulgated are revival in the church now and reformation of the nation in our life time. The primary leader is Jim Hodges from Dallas and Dutch Sheets from Colorado Springs. I can tell you there was a resonance in the people who attended. If you can visit one of these I can promise you this, these RRI's are events with substance. Be ready to be soaked in God's presence and do not be in a hurry. "They that wait...shall renew their strength." Secondly I spoke twice at the Bible College sponsored by Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles. Fred Price is pastor. What a joy to meet a tremendous group of students who are on fire for Jesus and will be contributors to the efforts of Jesus in the days to come. The crowd at CCC and I became fast friends and I hope to return there again soon. Coming up.. God willing on August 24, Gloria and I leave for Cyprus, then on to Athens for local church ministry with Demetrious Lekkas and then onward to Thessaloniki for a national leadership conference. The later is a five day event with services morning and evening. Busy but good for sure. On going.. Humanitarian help continues to flow to Haiti and Chile and elsewhere in the world as need demands. The first part of this year has kept us very busy meeting human needs. In the process God has met ours as well. IPODS... 102 IPOD Video Bible schools are in operation in 17 Islamic countries. You made all that possible. In total we plan send another 18 and all of them will go into very restricted places. They are still $400 and your help is need in finishing this up. We only need about 7 or 8 more units to fill current requests, All gifts to: Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 Thanks and God bless Dale Van Steenis June, 2010
To our friends across the world, Grace and Peace to you all!
Allow me to quickly come to my subject. This email has nothing to do with Leadership Strategies and its multifaceted ministries or Giving Children Hope, its humanitarian partner.
IN THIS NOTE, I AM ASKING ALL OUR FRIENDS EVERYWHERE TO PRAY FOR AMERICA.
As a nation we have a huge, and as of today, an unmanaged problem with a gushing oil well 5000 feet below the gulf of Mexico. The likelihood is that ninety percent or more of the fishing industry in the gulf will close for our lifetime. That also means the lives and liveli- hoods of thousands of people will be impacted for an entire generation and beyond. Additionally, tourism will die along hundreds of miles of coastline.
Secondly, America has a growing debt problem that is difficult to manage now and will be impossible to manage if deferred to later. Fiscal year 2011 projected budget is 1.6 trillion dollars. That is 10.6 percent of our nations' total output. Additionally, there are billions of unfunded pension obligations to consider. And be reminded that America is fighting two wars at the moment. Staggering no? And the DC crowd of all political parties seems untouched and unmoved by the present and future consequences. Again, unbelievable.
Do not wish to sound like an alarmist but I am deeply concerned about America NOW!
The ills of the nation are based in moral weakness. We need the churches to be renewed and to arise and to speak for rightness and morality. And to speak in ways to be heard. No rants, No rancor. No hysterics. Truth spoken in kindness and clarity.
So, may I ask all of you who read our mails to pray with fervor about the above matters?
Our ministry has many friends and partners overseas that read our letters and partner in ministry. I ask you kindly to pray for America now. As a nation America does more in a month to care for the sick, bruised, damaged, hungry and sick of the world than all other nations combined. It will be a dark day worldwide if the lights go out in the USA.
Thanks for caring.

Mid May, 2010 Grace to our friends across the world.
Hunger leads us to eat. Hunger is not very discriminating when it comes to the kind or content of food. It demands intake. It drives us until satisfied. Be encouraged my dear reader, in general, there is rising hunger in the people of God all across the land. The mamby pamby level of church life in America may sustain infants but has created serious malnourishment in adults. There is now a clear cry for more of God, more of holiness, more of the anointing, a full release of the Holy Spirit in church services, a return off the miraculous, and powerful preaching of the Word.
In environments where loud and repetitive is defined as modern worship, where sermons are ten minute homilies on feeling good about life, where there is no mention or conviction of sin, where the demonstration of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are spoken of only in historical or humorous terms, there, in that weak atmosphere, little to nothing is happening that is supported and sponsored from heaven. God has been controlled in our midst to our level of comfort. And we are now eating the fruit of our folly. Thank God a remnant is rising in the earth that is not satisfied with all the above. I want to be numbered with them. Come Lord Jesus come...to your church in America. Amen!
Ministry matters..
Today, Friday, another shipment of relief goods is headed to Mexico. Partners on the border are working in incredibly good ways, efficient ways, to down size the shipment and carry across in small loads for distribution. The distribution will be tomorrow. You make these efforts possible. Muchas gracias.
We are continuing to ship to Haiti(primarily food) and we are waiting now for specific information to prepare another container for Chile. Our partner in Chile, Mike Files, is making a data gathering trip into all the earthquake zones starting Monday. From his research, we will fill another container and get it on the way as soon as possible.
SPECIAL REQUEST
Above all other matters in this email, I am writing to our worldwide audience a prayer request for my friend, Ross Brennan. Ross has served the last several years as a missionary in Vietnam. He lives sacrificially and serves the Vietnamese people without reserve. In an email received today, Ross explained he has been diagnosed with level 4 cancer. He has cancer in several parts of his body and needs a miracle. Please place this brothers name on all your prayer lists. With you and Ross, we are believing for a miracle.
IPOD project.
I need only 15 more to complete this phase of our distribution in Muslim places. When finished with this phase, 120 IPOD Bible schools will be working in 17 nations in Africa and the Middle East. As you have read repeatedly, these units are only $400 USD. and the potential to reproduce leaders is exponential. Will you help us finish this up? Leaders overseas are waiting for their IPODS to begin training others to share the gospel and to bebetter followers of Jesus. The ONLY answer to the Islamic challenge in the earth is to present them with the gospel of Jesus.

Grace to all our friends, supporters and prayer partners in Jesus name.
Praise Him today. In spite of the worsening of world conditions, "the path of the just grows brighter and brighter unto the eternal day". Are you growing upward or downward? The downward focus comes from paying undue attention to world conditions and feeding that negativity into our spirit man(woman). The upward journey that produces light can stated beautifully in the words of an old song. "Turn your eyes on Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim. In the light of His glory and grace." We must see our lives, condition, future, and destiny through a prism called Jesus. His promise is for life abundant.
Many of our friends are in times of trial at the moment. The Bible assures us we will NOT be exempt from such. It also assures we are not alone in our journey, nor are we destined to be destroyed or crushed. "A bruised reed will He not break". Take heart weary pilgrim...you have the promise of a morning called JOY. I trust it is close at hand for you. Amen
Family matters.. Gloria and I leave today for Tulsa. Tomorrow our youngest son Paul Daniel graduates from Oral Roberts University with honors. We are very proud of him and his accomplishments there. He will be staying on to complete a masters degree in business. From Tulsa we journey onward to New Orleans area to spend the rest of the week and Mothers Day with our eldest son and daughter in law. Ministry matters.. Attached please find a roster of pictures from our distribution in Mexicali. Another truckload is being prepared now. Credit goes to wonderful churches and friends along the border who provided a semi truck, warehousing, forklifts, a tremendous work crew, and small trucks to carry goods where they were needed. Many testimonials have come in of appreciation for the assistance as well as they spirit in which is was given. God be praised and you be thanked for your generosity. We accomplish things like the above because of people who pray, care and give. We cannot thank you enough on behalf of the many who have been blessed. ![]() All gifts to:

Time marches.
So do we. As we go, it is critical to grow in grace and the knowledge of God and man. From my youngest days of ministry till now they have been mighty big adjustments in ministry and well there should be. If we are "growers" we will seek revelation, insight into truth, embrace what God says with a passion and give Him permission daily to change us. Since congregations generally like their leaders "the way they are", ripples start immediately when the term "change" is announced. I really believe the word fornication and change have equal weight in churches. Both are to be avoided at all costs. Some great men and women of God have brought the church to where it is now. It will take more of them, and new ones, to move the church where it must be to confront the end time generation. We need power from the Holy Spirit to live holy, clean righteous lives. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to manifest the Lordship of Jesus. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Bible to our minds. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel with effectiveness and persuasion. Make Him welcome.
I often hear this well meaning prayer at the start of services, "Lord come among us today. Send your Holy Spirit to lead and guide." What follows is a tightly controlled, well managed time slot with precisely no regard for the prayer just prayed. Little to no time is given for God to do His mighty work in people's hearts. We inherit then, the fruit of nice planning by talented people. What we miss is a divine deluge with signs following. I'm hungry for the latter. You? Amen!
Summer meetings.
One slot has opened for a multi-nite meeting in late summer. If you want that let me know soon at the above email or call our office at 562 5949220 or my cell 562 3310977. We are seeing signs of fresh rain...various levels but certainly deeper than even a few months ago.
There have been many healings as well. Every church needs something more than a blessing time. We need a breakthrough to a whole new place in God. Call if interested.
IPODS
What a blessing you have been to sponsor this program. At the moment, 100 plus IPODS in Arabic are at work in 13 Muslim nations. We need about 20 more to complete the phase of the program. Some nations that are most needy have received only one or two units and need many more.
ISOM that makes and markets the material used on the IPODS will soon have two additional additions of 30 hrs each. One training module will be just for women. The other called "Community Development" has to do with gardening, women's health, purifying water , making healthy meals etc. The new material is wonderful and needed everywhere.
Translation is underway at the moment. Pray diligently for the good folks doing the work.
HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE
Many tons of goods have been and are continuing to be delivered to Haiti. Through partnerships there, we have secured warehousing where the ministries we help can get what they need and safely. Hundreds of people are being fed every day and many hundreds more are receiving medical assistance.
Then there is Chile. Since Chile is in much better condition than Haiti, it went off the news map very quickly. Yet it will take years for a full recovery there. Our containers are on the way and we are currently working on a development project as well. More information as that develops.
Finally, there is our neighbor Mexico. Since the greatest damage was near the border, getting help across was easy. Over the past weekend, large amounts of food and materials were delivered to the damage zones and through churches. At several levels, help will continue to flow to Mexico through Calexico and then across the border. Perhaps there are some church leaders reading this that want a work project. We can connect you. Again, contact our office at the numbers in this email and we will call you as soon as we can.
To all of you who pray and give to LSI, Gloria and I are ever thankful for what you enable us to do here, there, and everywhere. Be blessed in Jesus name.

March 30.2010 Late March, 2010 Grace to our friends everywhere! One's own opinion is just that, an opinion. However, discernment, insight and experience can add "weight", if you will, to an opinion. That being said, I want to give one, an opinion, about the next few years of our charismatic church life. I believe the era of "feel good", "be nice", " prosper to the extreme", "non confrontational", "little anointed" services is creaking to a close. Those teachings have affected little to nothing in our bigger confrontation with evil and the sin it brings. And perhaps, in the absence of balance, have brought listeners into a false sense of approval over lifestyles bedded in greed and self indulgence of all kinds. I was raised in the middle of America in the state of Michigan. As a boy I remember the warm summers. When rain clouds came near, one could smell the rain before it fell, sometime hours before. How welcome it was. Moisture. The ground was to be refreshed. The dust would be settled. The heat would break and temperatures would lower for a few days. The earth took a long drink. My dear friends, I am having that sense again but this time not over physical rain. I believe another wave of refreshing is about to break from the heavens upon all those who are hungry. The Bible says we should "repent" so that "seasons(times) of refreshing can come from the presence of the Lord." The indication is, there is refreshing to come and that there will be one refreshing wave after the other. Where Gloria and I live in California we can see airplanes in their final landing approach to Los Angeles Airport. I have counted as many as 22 planes in a long line one behind the other. That's God's idea about refreshing. He has His times/seasons aligned to continuously pour out upon His people. And God be praised, I am beginning to see it. Many healings taking place spontaneously. Seekers easily in filled with the Holy Spirit. Many backsliders returning to Christ. Well, how do we get in on all this? Its really simple. Repent, restore the old markers of righteous living and Christian integrity. Return/restore prayer times corporately and personally. And then get ready for a deluge! Amen. Ministry matters IPODS 75 IPOD Bible schools are now in the field working in 12 different nations. All are Muslim places. One nation where we recently placed a number of units kicked out forty missionaries in the last two weeks. To our knowledge, no IPODS were lost. Additionally, we have another 15 units paid for and ready to ship. As you know, ALL IPODS are hand delivered out of necessity. The next units are going into Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Algeria. We think we will need about 30 more units to meet current needs. To repeat, each IPOD Bible school is $400. USD. TRAVELS Most of March was spent in Wyoming. I love going there. The churches we visited in Worland and Gillette are alive and seeing refreshing waves week after week. Additionally, as a personal treat, I was able to spend two days with the Shafer family relaxing and talking a great deal about God and His church. We had great fellowship together. The trip capped off in Casper with an overnight at the home AG Miller, Pastor of First Assembly Casper. The last weekend of the month will be in Holland Michigan at the Vineyard Church and then on to Chicagoland for a ministry board meeting next Monday. My sense about march overall is this, the presence of God is rising upon the hungry. MEETINGS Some months ago I opened our calendar to some multi-night meetings. Those slots were taken quickly. Why multi-night? Because all churches need more than blessing. We need breakthroughs. Sorry to hark back to prior days but they were not all bad. One of the things that happened in multi-night events was breakthroughs. Every night people repented, prayed, got touched by the Holy Spirit and somewhere in all that, had genuine life changing breakthroughs. A service or two will not produce that. We have to wait on God till the "weight" of His presence crushes the fleshly stuff residing in us all. I am opening more time for these type events. Contact me at the email above or on my cell at 562 3310977 if you have an interest. TRIPS See below. In April, Gary Carnahan and I may need to make a trip to Senegal to meet with city officers over some land issues. We honestly hope we don;t have to go but it may be needful. In May we have been invited to be part of a teaching team conducting a conference in Split, Croatia. Please pray with me for guidance. There are plenty of wonderful things to do these days. However, we want to engage only where God wants us to be. PRAYER NEEDS I ask all those who intercede for LSI to pray for the workers in Senegal. With several colleagues, LSI is partnering to develop a Bible school and some other strategically important bases. At the moment there is a land dispute with the city in which church property is located. This matter needs your prayers NOW. As soon as it is settled I will let you know. This matter is very important. So, please engage in prayer with us. Thanks. FINALLY.... Gloria and our children are doing well. The next big family centered event will be Paul Daniel's graduation from Oral Roberts University on Saturday, May 1. We honor him and he is our last to finish university(even though he is staying on to do graduate work for another year). Gloria and I are free at last, free at last. PTL. And we are very proud of the accomplishments of our children. All gifts to: Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 Thank you and God bless you heaps and heaps! Dale Van Steenis Director March 4, 2010 Blessings to our friends everywhere... I am off to Wyoming in the morning for ten days of meetings in various places. Through the years I have found excellent fellowship in Wyoming and churches hungry for more of God. Because of that hunger I return when I can. May God grant the refreshing and outpouring many of us are praying for...and not only in Wyoming. Good news on Haiti...With our partner Giving Children Hope we can happily say about $5,000,000 in aid of various kinds has been shipped to Haiti. More is on the way because the human problem continues there and will for many years into the future. We are working now with some Haitian brothers to create jobs and small businesses to support a long term and permanent recovery. The churches are booming as many Haitians are turning to God in their distress. May revival sweep over that nation in Jesus name. We are waiting word tonite about assisting in Chili. A friend of many years arrived there yesterday and he has lived and worked in Chili for more than 25 yrs. We will ship based on his assessments. Pray into that if you will. Meetings...a few miracles have occurred in the last few weeks. We are expecting more. Plus many people are being refreshed in spirit and released in body and soul. I encourage you to press in. There is more to be had than we currently enjoy. IPODS are continuing to be sent into Islamic nations and now also into the Middle East. Pray for their safe delivery. More will be sent this month. We have a few bought and paid for and ready. All together we need about another 40 units to fulfill what we think God has said to us in terms of the reach of the project for now. So, I encourage you to give into this project now. Each unit is $400. Gifts for Haiti and Chili are also being received. All gifts should be sent to: Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 My thanks and appreciation for all you do month after month. The kingdom of Jesus is growing because of our partnership. Blessings, Dale van Steenis Mid February, 2010 Good Morning and a huge God bless to our friends everywhere. May you enjoy His presence TODAY at an unprecedented level. Have been made more keenly aware recently of how many church services have substituted noise and musical technique for worship and PRESENCE. Performance before presence is an empty exercise. When the overpowering volume subsides, when the latest "worship" fad diminishes and we wannabe worshippers are left alone, what is the residual impact of those seemingly endless, ear violating repetitions? Where have we been taken? In many cases, nowhere near God. Our emotions may have been kicked up a notch but for the most part, our spirits have not been encouraged, enlivened, nurtured or improved. What then, is this exercise at the front end of church services? If you are the person responsible for the over all planning of church services, may I ask you to be sure to give guidance over the music portion? One criteria is easy to enforce and essential for healthy worship. Insist that all singers and musicians pray intensively before playing/singing. And their fundamental requirement for public ministry must be a manifest sense of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Oh the presence of God! How I yearn for Him! Ministry matters.. Haiti Dozens of you have sent gifts for Haiti and they have been processed and sent along to various agencies that we know are trustworthy and have integrity. The needs in Haiti are more than anyone can adequately describe. Thousands still sleep out doors and on the streets. Many thousands were seriously injured by falling concrete and debris. Their wounds need on going medical attention. At the time many medical teams are pulling out and heading back to their home countries. The needs going forward are as large as anything ever known in the Western Hemisphere. Over the last few weeks, we have seen yet again, miracles of supply and transport to help broken people. Thank God for churches and their associated ministries. Church and parchurch ministries are on the front lines helping in ways that defy description. Because many churches outside Haiti had relationships there, work and help connections for them inside Haiti happened quickly. This week our ministry will deliver many tons of food in the form of rice, beans and corn. Food shipments are organized from the Gulf States. Additionally, we continue to ship medicines and medical supplies from our warehouse here in California. As long as you provide the financial supply lines, we will continue to ship goods to bless the Haitian people. We do all our ministry and help through churches and their associated ministries. Thank God for the church! Thank you for making help and assistance available. IPODS Thanks too for all of you who have purchase IPODS for Islamic places. As of this morning, there are 72 working in 11 Muslim dominated nations. We need another fifty for places like Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Egypt. Remember, each unit with a connector kit is $400. USD and is a full video Bible School. Together we can change the world with this tool. FINANCES As you know, LSI has a "soft" fundraising mode. All the years of this ministry we have simply made needs known and you have prayed and responded. At the moment we have needs not related to Haiti. The ministry itself needs some additional support. I simply ask you to pray into this as respond as God enables and speaks. All gifts to: Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 Thanks and God bless you all Dale Van Steenis Director February 1, 2010 Good morning to you all and may God add blessing to you today! My team is back from Vietnam. I believe we just completed the best event there to date. Hunger was high, interest keen, attention rapt, spirits high and the presence of God manifest in every session. The last day of an event, and sometimes sooner, we spend substantial time in praying and prophesy over the conferees. God clearly showed His good hand in the ministry sessions as well. My summary sense is the church in Vietnam is in good hands and has a brilliant future. The church of Jesus is growing rapidly and with strength. Continue to pray for the raising up of new leaders to take the church forward in Vietnam. And to all the churches and individuals who made the leadership training event possible, thank you in Jesus name for the investment made. YOU contributed to their training, refreshing, and vision growth. My thanks and appreciation. To Haiti relief... Thanks also to the many of you individuals and churches who have sent offerings for Haiti relief. I sent all we had on hand before the Vietnam trip. And we will dispense all that has come in since this week. Our partner and my friend, John Ditty who leads Global Operations is in Haiti and will be back mid week. From his assessments we will continue to ship medical help, food and perhaps some clothing. Food and medicine are most in need at the moment. The Haiti situation is going to require long term help. The immediate need for food and medicine is easing slowly as distribution points are being set up around Port au Prince. Again please be advised that LSI works through church agencies only. Why? Those agencies provide the best chance for integrity and fairness in dealing with the poor and needy. To date we have been blessed to see human kindness manifest in wonderful ways through the churches and church organizations. Thank you again All gifts to: Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 Dale Van Steenis Thursday, January 21, 2010 Blessings to all our dear friends and supporters across the world.May you feel His strength today! Last nite, Wednesday, our partners in the Haiti relief effort landed 35,000 lbs of food, medicines and medical supplies along with a team to look after it and help get it distributed. Daily flights from the West Coast are delivering from 10-15000 lbs per of goods we have shipped into Florida where it is trans-shipped into Haiti. In general, food and medicines are flowing much better in the earthquake areas with the assistance of thousands of American military who are acting as security officers and who aid tremendously in getting relief transferred safely to distribution points. Since what little infrastructure there was has been broken it is still very difficult to work. Little to no electricity...so no running water in most places. Amputations are being done with saws and no anesthesia but aspirin. The alternative of course, is to let people die. So the surgeries go on. Today we are planning a series of containers to follow up on what will be a several month challenge in Haiti. To date we have been successful in getting funds in directly and goods as described above. Much more needs doing so we continue to work hard to get help where its needed. God has been our helper for sure and we give him praise. A profound thank you to all who have sent goods, medical personnel and funds. They are helping touch thousands of people today. Two other matters to note: 1. Giving receipts for 2009 will be mailed this week and next. If there are any problems or corrections to be made please contact our office at the email above or call 562 5949220. 2. I will be in Vietnam from Sunday evening 1/24-2/2. So use the emails to contact me during that time. Blessings and thanks again for your partnership which continues to touch thousands daily. Through a large network of old and new friends across the country, a large amount of goods will leave this afternoon by air and for Haiti. Forty(40) pallets of medical supplies, medicines, water purification kits and food will leave LAX airport today and will arrive early tomorrow morning in Port a Prince. Permission has been granted by the FAA to take off here and land there. The goods will all be transported to the Campus Crusade warehouse near Port au Prince and distributed to various churches and para-church agencies from there starting Sunday afternoon. A hearty praise the Lord on this one is appropriate. Much more will be done this coming week but this is a good start. Thanks for all your calls, gifts and prayers and keep 'em all coming. The need in Haiti continues. With appreciation, Dale Van Steenis Leadership Strategies All gifts to: Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 Friday afternoon, January 15, 2010 Praise God for a great week! It is a week in which we have prayed much and also asked God for ingenuity to get things done. I am speaking, of course, of the situation in Haiti. I am thrilled to tell you that we have found a way to transfer funds. The first of them will actually arrive today, Friday, and also goods. The first medical shipment will arrive tomorrow. God be praised. There is yet much to do but help is slowly finding itself to those who need it. I was thinking last nite about the "how" for Haiti. We have lots of medical goods and other things to lift people from their misery. But how to get it where it needs to be? In the middle of the night I was awake thinking this through and a clear plan came to me about Haiti. So we are working it now and it is a successful plan. Please believe me when I tell you it is not mine. I believe it came from above. So for all the interested, we will carefully handle your funds and will send one hundred percent to Haiti projects. One other note, on Sunday evening, January 24 I have a team headed to Vietnam. All tickets are paid and we have forwarded LSI funds to cover the conference. We cover those monies we need, as of today, Friday, we need $1000. USD to finish up. Any of our readers feel a burden for Vietnam? Please pray into this. All gifts to: Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 Deep appreciation, Dale Van Steenis Wednesday, January 13, 2010 A wonderful and good morning and God bless to you all! The news from Haiti is the worst. Poor buildings fall quickly when earthquakes hit. It will be weeks before the real death and damage toll is known in Haiti. It is catastrophic.Even before the earthquake, life was as hard in Haiti as anywhere on earth. Haiti is, by any standard, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Now it is devastated. Leadership Strategies and it long time partner ministry, Global Operations/Giving Children Hope, is preparing now to send medicines and all the other kinds of help that are needed in the event of a natural disaster. In Haiti that means nearly every kind of assistance imaginable. If you, your church, or any group needs a safe, trusted vehicle through which monies can be sent to release aid immediately, we stand ready to do just that. Mark your gifts clearly and send all gifts to: Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 If you want to bank wire, contact our office for details at 562 5949220. One hundred percent of designated gifts to the project/purpose for which they were given. In behalf of the poor and unfortunate, deep thanks and appreciation. Dale Van Steenis Director Happy New Year to our Friends Everywhere! May 2010 be a year of fruitfulness and fulfillment. As I have began praying into this season, that is what I am just beginning to hear. I think we need mega-doses of both. All fullness is found in Christ Jesus so our pursuits must start with a renewed acquaintance with Him. Any fulfillment and all fruit will be a direct result of intimacy with Jesus. Let's pledge to seek Him in unprecedented ways in 2010. Beyond the little exhortation above, I want to communicate two things. First, concerning IPODS... God be praised, because you gave sacrificially, there are now about 70 IPOD bible schools in Arabic and French working in eleven(11) Islamic nations. Most of north and west African nations have units working. A few were recently sent into the middle east. Can you imagine the influence that will come from these wonderful electronic tools. I traveled with a team in December to North Africa and everywhere IPODS were in use there were great testimonies of growth and maturity in those listening and seeing the teachings. Again, God be praised. We have requests now from places like Syria and Iraq so the program will continue a few months yet. We would like to place another 40-50 units throughout the middle east. Just a reminder, each unit consists of a 120 gig IPOD loaded with 160 hours of training materials, and a universal connector kit so it can be linked to a PC, laptop or TV.The ones we use in the middle east are in Arabic or French as the need demands. Each unit is $400 USD. Second, concerning Vietnam... Our LSI team leaves Sunday, January 24th at 11:30 pm for Vietnam. This will be our fifth leadership training event in that country. Each time the local leadership assembles a different group of leaders from a different part of the country so all can eventually be benefited. There is such a strong prayer ministry in Vietnam that the presence of God is usually manifest early on in these events. Very slowly religious freedom is starting. And the price has been high and in some parts still is. Some leaders are in prison at the moment. Yet a huge gathering at Christmas had official approval and was held in Sai Gon without interference. As you all know, we have just come through December. What that means for missions is support slackens considerably. So, as of this morning, we need $2500. for the Vietnam leadership conference and we need it in hand by January 15. Would you pray and see if God might want you to respond? There is a reason we visit under reached places like Vietnam and Islamic nations. They are worth it and a huge harvest is waiting to be taken. All ministry needs workers and our calling to train the hands of locals to harvest in their own land. You can help by praying and giving. My thanks and let us hear from you soon. All gifts to: Leadership Strategies PO Box 588 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 Blessings, Dale Van Steenis PS. All giving receipts will be mailed not later than January 30 and we hope sooner! |
